Since its closure in late 2014 the people of Leith have worked hard to prevent the demolition of the former council operated Duncan Place Resource Centre. The Duncan Place board, in partnership with The City of Edinburgh Council (CEC), have successfully raised funds of approx. £1.8m to refurbish the building through the Scottish Government. Further revenue funding from The National Lottery Community Fund has also been secured.
With the refurb entering its final few months, ownership of the building will soon transfer from CEC to the Duncan Place SCIO. The building will operate as a social enterprise with community space on the ground floor and permanent lettable rooms up above.
We now wish to enhance the skill set of the board and current advisers to ensure we are ready for this exciting new phase. We are particularly interested to hear from individuals with expertise in the following areas:
