Tomorrow, Thursday 23rd April we have our monthly adult Lego group!

Starting at 7pm and running until 8:30pm, this group is a great chance to get creative and enjoy some downtime.

Coming to the group costs £1, you can pay by cash or card at reception when you get here, and if you’d like to let us know you’re coming you can book a space on eventbrite (link in bio).

We hold this session in our Big Links room, at a large table where we provide all the Lego you’ll need (we have loads)! We have the bright lights on, and we provide a hot drink during the session. Our building is wheelchair accessible.

We'll be walking round Restalrig Railway Path, and

We'll be walking round Restalrig Railway Path, and doing a mini-litter pick on the path, on Thursday 23rd April, 12 noon til 1:30pm. Come along if you're free and would like to get some fresh air, gentle exercise, meet new people, and tidy up a little part of nature!

Meet outside Duncan Place Community Hub at 11:55am.

We'll walk halfway round Restalrig Railway Path (starting from the Easter Road end) and then do a mini-litter pick for 30 minutes on the pathway underneath Lochend Road (for those that opt in to that). We'll bring all the litter picking gear. The spot we've identified is next to a bench, so folks can have a seat if needed.

Rough timings:
11:55am - meet at Duncan Place
12 noon-12:20 - walk round Restalrig Railway Path from the Easter Rd side.
12:20-12:50 - mini litter pick on railway path under Lochend Road.
12:50-1:30pm - walk round the rest of railway path to Duncan Place via Leith Links.

This is part of our regular walks (Seasonal Strolls) where we head out on walks on Leith Links and the surrounding areas. They're free to come along and you don't need to book. After this walk, we'll next be out on Thursday 21st May, walking along to Lochend Park to see what's happening at the pond. Same times and meeting point (11:55am outside Duncan Place).

(walks are usually fortnightly, but there won't be a walk on Thu 7th May)

Our extremely popular D&D group for ages S2 - S6 i

Our extremely popular D&D group for ages S2 - S6 is BACK THIS FRIDAY 24th APRIL, after three weeks off over the school holidays.🧙‍♂️

Running for the next 9 weeks, up until Friday 19th June, the group will be on every week until the summer holidays - plenty of time for a young person to get stuck into a campaign and learn all they need to know for a summer of adventuring!

This group is for young people aged S2-S6 (up to age 17) and runs from 3pm - 5pm on Friday afternoons, cost £2 per session. You can book a young person into the group by sending an email to * events@duncanplace.org * - and they can start as early as this week! 🏰

These sessions are delivered by our wonderful neighbours @ancientrobotgames at Duncan Place Community Hub. We hold these sessions in our Big Duncan room, which is large and bright, with players sat around 4 tables.

We have a couple of spaces available to join our Tuesday evening community choir.

Our upcoming 8-week choir block will run from Tuesday 28th April until Tuesday 16th June. The choir meet from 7pm til 8:45pm, and the block costs £40 which is paid in advance before the block starts.

If you'd like to join a friendly bunch of folks in your community to sing together, led by a fantastic, enthusiastic choir leader, then this is the choir for you!

We welcome all singers aged 18 and over, whether you’re a complete beginner or seasoned singer. There are no auditions, and everything is learned by ear, you do not need to read music.

We sing acapella enjoying a range of material from folk, soul, pop, gospel and traditional songs in other languages. Songs that celebrate community, nature and humanity feature highly in the repertoire.

Singing in a choir can be a wonderful boost to your health and wellbeing. It’s a proven way to reduce stress levels and a great way to meet new people.

Our monthly LEGO Club for ages 7 to 11 meet again on Thursday 23rd April, 4:30pm until 6pm. We have loads of LEGO and they have loads of imagination! Know someone 7-11 who'd love to come along and build? Book a space on Eventbrite (link in bio), then pay £1 when you arrive.

Our planters project is officially in motion! 🌱 Thank you so much to the fab community members who volunteered yesterday and helped to get the planters in place, filled, and some of them planted with cuttings and seeds (radishes, lettuce, chives, lemon balm, oregano, mint, purple broccoli, etc). Our concrete car park has been transformed and we can't wait to have lots of veggies, herbs, and bee friendly plants growing! 🐝

Massive thanks to @edinburghccan for the seed funding to allow us to get this project started. 💚

Fingers crossed that pesky squirrel stays away. 🐿️ He's adorable, but a proper pest! 🤣

Exactly two years ago today, on 15th April 2024, we welcomed Yonnie to teach chair yoga classes here at Duncan Place Community Hub for the first time. We're so happy that Yonnie is part of the Duncan Place family. 🥰

Classes have been so popular, we now run them on Mondays and Thursdays. Both classes are full, with waiting lists, which is testament to how amazing Yonnie is. 👏 She always cheers us up when she comes in, and both classes are very fond of her.

We're celebrating Yonnie by including some things in this image that we know she loves; swans, music, and cake! (We all love cake!).

Thanks Yonnie for being you! And thanks to everyone who has been part of our chair yoga community these past two years. You're all superstars. Here's to many more! Happy Birthday, Chair Yoga! ❤️

April dates for our walking group. Come and join us! (all walks, meet at 11:55am outside Duncan Place)

Thu 9th April - We'll be out walking the Leith Links paths, with a stop-off at the orchard. (60 minutes)

Thu 23rd April - 🚮 MINI LITTER PICK WALK
As it's #SpringCleanScotland we're going to do a mini litter pick as part of our walk on Restalrig Railway Path. We'll head round, and find a space next to a bench. Those that would like to, can help with a mini 30-min litter pick of a small area. We'll bring litter pickers, bags, etc, in our wee trolley. This walk will be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, running 12 noon til 1:30pm. Restalrig Railway Path is a circular path that takes us round the old railway path, among the trees, passing by the allotments, and back down through the Links.

ℹ️ There's no cost to come along, just bring yourself.
ℹ️ You don't have to book for these walks, you can just come along. However, if you like getting reminders, you can book a free place for the walks on Eventbrite via the link in our bio.

👉 Claudine wants you to get a ticket for our Annual Ugly Bonnets Crafting Extravanganza on Tuesday 14th April, 7pm. Make your own ugly bonnet using our random, colourful, craft supplies!
🎟 Tickets are just a fiver, and over half the tickets have gone already. This event is for adults (min age 16). No craft experience needed. Just a willingness to be a bit silly!
