Duncan Place Community and Enterprise Hub is a welcoming community owned and manged centre in the heart of Leith. We are a social enterprise and a Scottish charity established to run the Duncan Place building as a space to work, meet, learn and create in the heart of the Leith community. If you are an experienced tutor, enthusiastic to be a part of bringing people together in our newly renovated historic building the we’d love to hear from you.
Duncan Place offers secure tenancies for organisations making a social impact in Leith and space to use as a base for Duncan Place’s own community-based activities: workshops, classes, events and celebrations. These spaces are also available to hire on an hourly basis.
The community have told us they would like activities in the following areas: arts, crafts, music, history, technology, animation, coding, languages, cooking, multi-cultural events, well-being, social events, young people’s groups, children’s groups and educational opportunities.
Duncan Place is also be keen to hear from people with experience of peer support, community development and volunteer management.
We are now looking to build a pool of sessional tutors to deliver engaging activities covering this wide range of topics. Depending upon the evolving health guidance some of these activities may be online while others may be able to be held on-site or outdoors.
If you could be part of establishing Duncan Place as a vibrant fun centre that brings people together to learn and share please complete the form below and, when the time comes, we will be in touch. Depending upon the health guidance this may be soon, or in many weeks & months from now. For the moment these will be paid positions, on a casual self-employed basis – we are not looking to employ tutors at this stage. We hope to have activities for children, young people and adults, intergenerational activities, multi-cultural activities, activities for fun, for learning and for well-being.
Duncan Place will work with sessional tutors to ensure all requirements are met in the current context of additional hygiene routines, limited group sizes and online delivery methods.
