SUMMARY:Caitlin Heavey - Yogabirth
DESCRIPTION:Big Links room\n\n	Whether you're already an avid builder\, never picked up a LEGO brick before\, or it's just been a while\, join us and connect with others in a relaxed and friendly social setting. Our group is growing. We welcome new members each time. \nIn addition to the creative benefits\, building with LEGO can be therapeutic and a great tool to reduce stress and anxiety. \n\nCost\nAlthough registration on Eventbrite does not require an online payment\, there's a small cost of £1 per person to be paid at each session by cash or card. If paying by cash\, it would be great if you could bring exactly £1 to save having to make lots of change. We also have a card machine available for card payments. \nThis group is strictly for adults aged 16 and over. \n\nRecent LEGO article about the benefits of LEGO building for adults:\n \nOver the past few years\, more and more people have been using LEGO® building to help them practice mindfulness. \nIn 2019\, we even teamed up with DK Publishing and the author Abbie Hendon to publish a self-help book entitled ‘Build Yourself Happy’\, which contains more than 50 mindful LEGO building activities and tips. (We’ve featured some of our favorites below!) \nYet despite the growing popularity of mindfulness\, there remains some confusion surrounding it. Mindfulness isn’t just some pseudo-scientific popular fad\, but can actually physically alter the brain of depressed patients for the better\, as an increasing number of scientific studies are showing. \nSo we thought it would be a good idea to explain a little bit more about mindfulness and see why psychologists are recommending LEGO building to achieve it. \nWe’ve even created our own step-by-step guide on how to practice mindfulness through LEGO building! \nRead the whole article here. \n\n\n\n \n	\n\nA Duncan Place Event\n \n \n \n \n Eventbrite \n \n	\n\n	\n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n Upcoming Events \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 9:00 am - 2:45 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Edinburgh College	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	Featured\n	\n 10:30 am - 11:30 am	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Chair Yoga	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 11:45 am - 1:45 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n The Cheyne Gang – Room 4	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 3:15 pm - 6:15 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Academy Arts	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n \n	\n View Calendar

Mindfulness isn’t just some pseudo-scientific popular fad\, but can actually physically alter the brain of depressed patients for the better\, as an increasing number of scientific studies are showing. \nSo we thought it would be a good idea to explain a little bit more about mindfulness and see why psychologists are recommending LEGO building to achieve it. \nWe’ve even created our own step-by-step guide on how to practice mindfulness through LEGO building! \nRead the whole article here. \n\n\n\n \n	\n\nA Duncan Place Event\n \n \n \n \n Eventbrite \n \n	\n\n	\n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n Upcoming Events \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 9:00 am - 2:45 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Edinburgh College	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	Featured\n	\n 10:30 am - 11:30 am	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Chair Yoga	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 11:45 am - 1:45 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n The Cheyne Gang – Room 4	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 27 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n \n 3:15 pm - 6:15 pm	\n	\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n \n	\n Academy Arts	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n \n	\n View Calendar

SUMMARY:Trustees Meeting - Wee Duncan room
